Florida sets new all-time tourism record
Florida set a new tourism record in 2024, welcoming 142.9 million visitors.
It marks the most travelers in the state’s history.
There were over 30 million visitors in the fourth quarter of 2024, with almost three million foreign travelers.
Of these, 742,000 were Canadians.
Overall, the state welcomed a total of 8.9 million overseas visitors in 2024.
“That is a pretty good increase over 2023 and the highest on record,” said Governor Ron DeSantis.
“And we know a lot of that is here in South Florida. We’re really excited that our tourism industry is booming.”
Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly added: “Tourism in Florida continued to break records, recovering from a challenging hurricane season, driving economic growth, and improving quality of life for Florida’s communities and families.”
Air arrivals were slightly up by 3.1% in 2024, with the biggest air passenger growth seen at secondary airports like Tallahassee, Panama City and Pensacola.
Room nights sold at Florida hotels increased by 1.6% in 2024.
