French rail travel made easy
Business travellers using a KDS booking tool will soon be able to book tickets on the French railways.
KDS International has signed an agreement with SNCF, the French railway company, to sell its fares on KDS’ self-booking tools. This means business travellers and travel managers will be able to compare the cost of air travel with train travel when booking trips.
The fares will be available for purchase from the end of the year. Previously, business travellers could check availability and times of trains, but would have to go through an agent to book tickets.
KDS president, Moncef Khanfir said: “We are now proud to be the first self-booking tool chosen by SNCF to provide our customers with a real comparison and a very homogenous service between train and air”.
KDS provides self-booking tools to companies such as BP, Shell and Henkel. The booking tool allows access either to a GDS or direct to company websites to book air or train travel, hotels and car rental. The booking tool can be customised to operate in accordance with company travel policy.
