Frontier raising checked bag fees
Low cost carrier Frontier Airlines is raising the price of checked bag fees from May 1.
The fee increases range from $5 to $10 per checked bag, with the biggest rise for bags checked last-minute at the gate which will go up from the current $50 to $60.
Passengers will pay $25 – a increase of $5 – at airport check-in or through a Frontier call center.
The existing $20 checked bag fee remains unchanged for customers who book the service online at FlyFrontier.com any time prior to the time of departure.
The airline also charges for carry-on bags but said there will be no change in the price for now, which ranges from $30 to $40, depending on the time of purchase.
Passengers traveling on the more expensive ‘classic plus’ tickets will still receive a free carry-on and one free checked bag and select seat assignment.
