Galileo claims jump in dynamic demand
Galileo’s non-air bookings have jumped by 65% due to growing demand for dynamic packaging options.
The GDS claimed the rise came on the back of a joint promotion with Marriott and Hertz as agents look to create ‘tailored travel’ for customers by adding components such as accommodation and car rental.
Cendant-owed Galileo has seen increased bookings for specialist options such as RoomMaster with Best Available Rate, Galileo HotelClub, Galileo Staff Catering and CarMaster.
Cendant’s UK and Ireland regional managing director Jason Clarke said: “Agents are realising that Galileo provides a simple and profitable solution to customer demand for dynamic packaging.
“We offer access to thousands of hotels and cars worldwide as well as thousands of self-catering properties in the UK and Europe at the best rates. This level of content combined with high commission rates give agents a powerful tool in creating packages for customers and wooing them away from the internet.
“Products such as Galileo HotelClub provide access to merchant hotel rates that enable agents to compete and win. And as all segments via Galileo HotelClub automatically earn commission, agents are guaranteed timely payments straight to their bottom line.”
