Garuda cancels more flights
Garuda flight operations in Indonesia continue to be disrupted following a breakdown of the airline’s crew rotation system.
Hundreds of passengers from six flights had to spend Sunday night in hotels as a result of the malfunction.
The airline warned that 13 flights would be cancelled today, but said all passengers would be booked on to alternative flights.
“We have already informed passengers that 13 flights — one to Kuala Lumpur, two to Medan, four to Palembang, three to Semarang, one to Makassar and two to Surabaya — have been cancelled,†said Agus Priyanto, Garuda’s director of commercial operations, quoted by the Jakarta Globe.
Garuda said the problems were caused by the loss of crew rotation data during the switchover to a new operations system.
The carrier does not expect to restore full operations until Thursday.
