GTMC recognises HR chief with special award
The GTMC has awarded Angela Williams, HR director of corporate travel specialists for BCD Travel, an Award for Excellence.
The award was presented at its annual domestic conference which in London yesterday.
The award was to recognise her commitment to nurturing new talent in the business travel industry.
Williams has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the employer-led Trailblazer apprenticeship scheme launched in early 2014 and designed specifically for those keen to develop careers in business travel.
"As the business travel industry is charged with understanding and serving the needs of the next generation of business travellers, it follows that we need to invest in the next generation of travel consultants and advisors," said GTMC chief executive, Paul Wait.
"Angela’s commitment has been unfailing since the scheme launched and this award is testament to her dedication to ensuring that the travel sector continues to be an exciting and engaging career path for those with the passion to pursue it."
Meanwhile, the travel management company group has signed Best Western Hotels Great Britain as its latest industry partner in the hotel sector.
