Bmi British Midland is the most punctual airline at Heathrow, according to statistics published by the CAA for 2010.
Just under 79% of the airline’s 38,000 flights left Heathrow on time last year, an average that includes the poor weather conditions at the beginning and end of 2010.
The figures rate a flight as leaving on time if it left within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time.
Bmi regional had even more reason to celebrate as the figures showed it to be the most punctual airline operating from UK airports in 2010 for the sixth year running.
Bmi chief executive officer Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said: “The punctuality statistics speak for themselves. We have proven our operational excellence in a challenging year experiencing severe weather conditions and the ash cloud in 2010.
“Efficiency and service quality on the ground and in the air is the cornerstone of our business. We strive to provide the best possible service and product for our customers, whether they’re traveling for business or pleasure.”
