HAL facing massive lawsuit

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Holland America Line, seeking damages of behalf of more than 500 passengers and crew members taken ill from the ‘Norwalk’ virus.

The virus was allegedly contracted on four recent cruises aboard the ship Amsterdam.

The suit has been filed by Californian-based lawyers Norton and Melnick, who have previously filed a lawsuit against HAL on behalf of 100 passengers who became ill while aboard the Ryndam last summer.

Neither the law firm nor HAL are commenting on the case.

Amsterdam was temporarily taken out of service and put into Port Everglades, Florida to undergo sanitary checks.
