Hawke flies onto Carnival UK board
Complete Cruise Solution sales director Giles Hawke has been promoted to the board of Carnival UK.
He is to take on additional responsibilities for reservations and systems, creating a combined customer services and sales unit, following the retirement of customer services director Linda Scard in April 2008.
A new head of sales will be recruited for the umbrella sales unit covering P&O Cruises, Cunard Line, Ocean Village and Princess Cruises in the UK.
Hawke said: “Our commitment to agents is deeper than ever and we sail into next year with strong business partnerships and real opportunities for agents to grow their cruise business.
“By having these departments working together we will be able to work even harder on delivering our philosophy of Selling through Service to our agents and our customers.”
Carnival UK CEO David Dingle said: “Giles has been with the company for five years and has transformed our sales operation into the Complete Cruise Solution during a period of massive change and growth for the company.”
Prior to joining Complete Cruise Solution, Hawke, 38, held roles in sales, general management, commercial and operations for various tour operators.
