Hershey sweetens the deal
The landmark Hotel Hershey in the famous chocolate town unveiled results of its “Grand Expansion,” which it calls a $67 million “sweetener” which also marks its 75th anniversary.
The expansion includes ten new cottages that house the hotel’s most premium rooms; construction of a new restaurant; the addition of a recreation campus with a full aquatic facility; an ice skating ring and other improvements to the front exterior.
“For the most part, the expansion was complete on Memorial Day weekend. We are currently putting the finishing touches on ‘The Shops at The Hotel Hershey.’ All seven boutique shops will be complete by the end of the year,” said Megan Shaffer, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Public Relations.
A renewed interest in family and multi-generational travel prompted the changes, according to Brian O’Day, general manager of The Hotel Hershey, which can be traced back to founder Milton Hershey.
Hershey, Pennsylvania, is known worldwide as “The Sweetest Place On Earth.”
With many holiday events, the hotel in central Pennsylvania is a year-round destination.
