Hilton appoints new CE
Hilton International has recruited an executive from outside the travel industry to take the role of chief executive.
Currently president of Black & Decker Corporation EMEA, Ian Carter, who is 43, will replace the late Anthony Harris. He reports to chief executive of Hilton Group plc, David Michels.
Hilton International is the UK division of Hilton group, which operates all Hilton hotels outside the US amounting to 405 properties.
Mr Carter has previously held senior roles at General Electric and Low & Bonar plc.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Michels said: “I am delighted to be announcing Ian’s appointment. He will bring a new dimension to the hotels business with different, but complementary skills which are very focussed on product innovation, quality and value.”
