Holland America helps earthquake victims
Holland America Line and guests on board two of its ships, ms Volendam and ms Amsterdam, have assisted victims of the earthquakes in Japan and New Zealand.
Holland America Line will deliver a check for $25,000 to the Japanese Red Cross during ms Volendam’s call in Kobe on May 2.
And to assist in the rebuilding of the city of Christchurch in New Zealand, following the massive earthquake that caused loss of life and widespread damage, Holland America Line has donated $5,000 to the New Zealand Red Cross.
Guests and crew on board ms Volendam and ms Amsterdam – both ships had been in New Zealand a short time prior to the earthquake – donated more than $10,000 to the Christchurch relief fund.
