Community Care
It is one of Malolo’s owning company’s (Ahura Resorts) charters to give back to our local communities and this is done in many ways from volunteer work to assistance with projects like the Koro-i-pita Model Village near Lautoka.
Two of our expatriate manager’s partners have been spending some time in one of the local Malolo Island villages, Solevu.
Donna and Sophie have been assisting in the village with educational activities.
They teach the local children arts and design which is a subject deemed to be somewhat less important than Maths, English etc.
Sophie and Donna feel that it is very important for the kids to learn how to express themselves and explore their creativity.
Sophie and Donna explain, “In doing the art you can also see another side to the children’s personalities, other than the one they show in everyday life.”
