Hotels praised for helping concert goers after Manchester atrocity
Hotels have been praised for taking care of the concert goers caught up in the atrocity in Manchester on Monday night.
The Park Inn, one of the hotels closest to the Manchester Arena, provided free food, drink, towels, duvets and pillows to those who were stranded after the city’s main train station was closed.
With all their bedrooms booked, hotel staff converted conference rooms into bedrooms for people to take a rest.
One parent posted on Twitter: "I can’t thank @parkinnmanc #manchesterareana enuf 4 taking care of my daughter all night while drove from Scotland 2 get her. #gratefuldad x."
The hotel responded: "It really was the absolute least we can do – we hope you got back home safely."
Kind-hearted Manchester residents also welcomed strangers into their homes to help others stranded.
The blast, which went off in the foyer as crowds were leaving a concert by Ariana Grande, killed 22 people, including children, and injured 59.
Anyone looking for loved ones should contact the authorities on 0161 856 9400.
Thousands of people joined the city’s Mayor, Andy Burnham, at a vigil at Albert Square on Tuesday evening.
The UK government has raised the terror threat level to critical as a result of the attack.
