House of Travel appoints Tony Marks to Board
The House of Travel Group is pleased to announce the appointment of former Pacific Blue CEO Tony Marks as a Director on the House of Travel Group Board.
Chris Paulsen said his appointment was a huge coup for the House of Travel Group, adding “Tony is incredibly well respected within the business community but particularly the aviation industry with his time as CEO at Pacific Blue and as the senior marketing executive at Air New Zealand in the 1990’s. He is highly regarding for his marketing and business development skills. His quirky, off beat style is perfect for House of Travel.”
Mr Marks said he was looking forward to his involvement on the Board.
“House of Travel is at the cutting edge of where the travel agent of the future needs to be. I am excited about what is planned for the next five years, including the move into Australia and look forward to being part of making it happen.”
The House of Travel Group has a projected turnover for 2007 of $750m, it has 90 retail outlets (with specialist corporate and leisure and group travel outlets) throughout New Zealand, its own award winning aggregated booking website www.houseoftravel.co.nz and two wholesale companies (both inbound and outbound). It employs in excess of 1,100 people and is privately owned and operated since it was established in 1987.
