Icelandair and Emirates ink codeshare
Icelandair and Emirates have signed an airline codeshare pact allowing their respective customers to seamlessly travel across the two airlines’ networks.
The codeshare flights will be available for sale from 1 September 2024, subject to pending regulatory approvals.
The agreement will greatly enhance both airlines’ offerings with convenient flight connections on a single ticket.
The airline codeshare also allows through baggage check to the final destination.
Icelandair passengers in North America and Iceland can connect eastbound via Emirates’ network to Dubai; and Emirates worldwide passengers can connect westbound via Icelandair’s network to Iceland.
Icelandair and Emirates expect to further develop and expand the partnership in the future.
Bogi Nils Bogason, Icelandair CEO said: “We are very pleased to announce Emirates as our seventh global airline codeshare partner.”
“Emirates’ extensive network will open exciting and convenient travel opportunities for our customers.”
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President added: “We’re pleased to partner with Icelandair and offer our customers access to new and exciting destinations beyond our own network.”
