Independent agents’ group introduces online rail booking
The Freedom Travel Agents Consortium is introducing the web-based Evolvi rail booking system.
The 100-member group is being offered the ability to book UK rail tickets through the system in conjunction with sister division Co op Travel Business Management.
Evolvi generates commission and provide Freedom members with the opportunity to charge a booking fee if appropriate.
Freedom Travel Agents Consortium deputy manager Alison Holmes said: “In the days of dynamic packaging we have recognised that our members want to offer every service possible to their customers.
“In order to address increased competition from the internet, direct sell from tour operators, reduced commission rates and business overheads, travel agents need to be confident that they are achieving maximum profit margins where possible.”
