Insight sees surge in interest for Oberammergau
SYDNEY – Insight Vacations has reported that its 2010 Oberammergau programme is on the way to selling out, with a recent surge in bookings attributed to the addition of its Definite Departure allocation on its website.
Lorraine Sharp, managing director, Insight Vacations, said, “Traditionally, tickets for the Oberammergau Passion Play Performance, which occurs only once every 10 years, sell out many months, sometimes even two years, in advance.
“The economic climate over the past year has definitely had an effect on the performance of the 2010 programme, with sales slightly slower than in previous decades.
“However, we’ve seen an incredible resurgence since the introduction of our online Definite Departure system.
“Currently, more than half of the total programme has been allocated as a Definite Departure, with some itineraries already achieving over 60 per cent of departures confirmed.
“All itineraries are reviewed on a weekly basis, with more Definite Departures added on a rolling basis,†she said.
