JetBlue blues blown away
Almost a year after weather-stranded passengers made headline news, JetBlue faced another storm in fine fashion, according to various reports.
Passengers were kept informed of the status of their flights, and several planes even left on time during a storm earlier this month, airline officials said.
“Our ramp was clear, and the majority of our flights left with minimal delays,” said spokeswoman Allison Eshelman.
It was a stark contrast from the way the airline handled the snowstorm that struck New York City last February.
Then, hundreds of passengers spent up to 11 hours trapped on 10 JetBlue planes stranded on Kennedy Airport’s icy tarmac. A massive outcry against the airline followed.
“JetBlue was awesome,” Edmund Balcerzak, 50, of Connecticut, told the New York Daily News shortly before he left Kennedy for Orlando. “My wife talked to them on the phone for a while. They were very, very helpful.”
