JetBlue teams up with Caribbean cricket
JetBlue Airways has announced a new partnership with the West Indies Cricket Board to become the official partner for the 2015 Series of International Cricket.
JetBlue will support the current Tests between the West Indies and England for the Wisden Trophy and two Tests this summer between the West Indies and Australia contesting the Frank Worrell Trophy.
"We at the WICB are delighted to welcome JetBlue to the wonderful game of cricket as the newest partner to West Indies cricket. JetBlue is a respected brand and we are thrilled they have chosen to support West Indies cricket in such a meaningful way," said West Indies Cricket Board commercial manager Nelecia Yeates.
"We have a large number of West Indians living in the United States – especially in the Tri-State area – so this new partnership will make it a lot easier for them to travel home to see their favourite team in action."
"JetBlue prides itself on being a good partner in every community that we serve. That is why we’re proud to support cricket, as it is a cherished sport in the region," added JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes.
The carrier has been ramping up its footprint in the Caribbean with added frequencies and new routes and last week announced direct New York-Antigua flights.
