Jetstar duty free policy questioned
Frequent Flyer Gazette has revealed that some its members are confused by Jetstar’s refusal to allow travellers to carry duty free alcohol out of Bali on a Jetstar flight.
"This unusual policy is enforced at all duty free alcohol stores in the Denpasar airport, while passengers on other carriers (to Australia) do not have such restrictions," according to a Frequent Flyer member.
Frequent Flyer said some of its members speculate there may be a payment or commission for the service of securely delivering duty free purchases to the aircraft from the stores at the airport.
"Jetstar may simply refuse to pay such a service or be distrustful of the security of this service."
Frequent Flyer said a number of members have complained and received compensation as a result of the inconvenience caused by this policy.
"Generally, our members have found the complaints process itself arduous, complex and lacking transparency."
