Jin Air launching seasonal Cairns flights in December

South Korean budget carrier Jin Air will offer nonstop seasonal flights from Seoul Incheon to Cairns over the festive period.

Twice weekly flights from Seoul to Cairns will operate for a two month period from December 14.

Jin Air will use Boeing 777-200ERs on the route and is a welcome boost for Cairns tourism and Queensland in general.

"We are so excited that Jin Air have chosen to bring visitors to Queensland via Cairns," Antonson said.

The flights were made possible after the signing a memorandum of understanding with the Queensland government.

"Under this MOU, we expect significant synergy in improving tourism industry and cultural exchanges between the countries," Jin Air said.

Jin Air’s parent company Korean Air already flies to Brisbane and Sydney from Seoul Incheon.
