Kentucky Derby – as you’ve never seen it before
Churchill Downs Racetrack and QuintEvents have reached a multi-year agreement in which the Charlotte, N.C. company will continue to serve as the historic track’s Official Partner Agency for the marketing and fulfillment of travel experience packages to the Kentucky Derby.
The Derby Experiences programme (www.DerbyExperiences.com) has sold out every year since its launch in 2007 and the new travel/experience packages include a rooftop party deck and an on-site Friday night party before the 140th annual race on Saturday, May 3.
"The Kentucky Derby is an iconic event and more and more people want to experience these spectacular sports and entertainment events in a very special way," said Brian Learst, CEO of QuintEvents.
For the first time this year, Derby Week partygoers will not have to leave the track to attend one of the premier social events. The new Fillies & Lilies Party at The Kentucky Derby Museum features entertainment by Wynonna Judd, the five-time Grammy Award winner.
The new party deck, Sunny’s Halo Lounge, will look out upon Churchill Downs’ massive new "Big Board," a state-of-the-art 4K LED video board measuring more than 15,000 square feet located along the track’s backstretch.
The track has teamed with Panasonic to create the $12 million video board that will provide images of unprecedented size and clarity of both the celebration and fashion of those days, and the excitement of racing on Derby and on Friday’s Kentucky Oaks Day.
The Derby Experiences Packages for the 2014 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks are available through DerbyExperiences.com
