Kidnapped airline pilot rescued
An airline pilot has been freed after a police rescue operation several days after he was kidnapped.
Caribbean Airlines pilot Daniel Kawall, 59, was kidnapped last week and a TT$1 million ransom was demanded.
Kawall was rescued alive on Sunday after police tracked three suspects as they were using Kawall’s bank card at a ATM in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
One of the suspects was shot dead and two were arrested.
Two more suspects are being sought.
The operation was conducted by the Trinidad Anti-Kidnapping Unit and other tactical teams.
Few details have been disclosed about the rescue operation and why the pilot was targeted for kidnapping.
