Kit off for your pensions!
Five air stewardesses who work for United Airlines have stripped off to produce a risqué calendar in protest at plans to take away their pension rights.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the carrier is planning to terminate some $9.8 billion in employee pension obligations and, while most employees have been protesting with “placards and pamphlets”, the quintet has decided to take things a little further.
The newspaper carriers a picture of “The Stews”, as they have called themselves, wearing no more than feather boas, high heels and red knickers.
The group are all aged between 55 and 64. While there are no direct references to United Airlines on the 2006 calendar, the Telegraph reports, each month’s page reportedly contains “a pointed is cheeky reference” to United’s plans.
The group’s website, at www.stewsstripped.com, says: “We are producing this calendar because we are facing the frightening probability that our ‘guaranteed’ pensions will be terminated.”
