Le Meridian to open hotel in Sihanoukville lifestyle development
Marriott International brand Le Meridian will rise in Cambodian beach town Sihanoukville.
The 388-room Le Meridien will form part of the landmark mixed use Gold Coast at Sihanoukville development after Marriott inked its second deal with Cambodian real estate company the Grand Lion Group.
The hotel is slated to open in 2022 and will feature restaurants, a rooftop bar, spa, fitness centre and meeting space including a ballroom.
The hotel will offer ocean views and the grounds will house an oceanfront beach club with infinity pools, a restaurant and bar.
The Gold Coast at Sihanoukville project will have 888 residential units in a 58-storey tower that also features luxury retail and entertainment outlets.
Ground breaking on the project begins next January.
"With the increasing growth in visitation to Cambodia, the time is ripe for us to introduce a global hospitality brand in Sihanoukville," said CEO of the Grand Lion Group, Lundy Nath.
The hotel will join Marriott’s first property in Cambodia, the Courtyard by Marriott Siem Reap Resort, which opened earlier this year.
