LOT Polish Airlines and CarTrawler.com sign online deal
Car rental distribution system CarTrawler.com has signed a three-year deal with LOT Polish Airlines to offer a dynamically packaged car rental offering on www.lot.com.
LOT will use the CarTrawler distribution system to retrieve real-time inventory and pricing from more than 450 car hire suppliers in 134 countries worldwide including all destinations served by the airline.
It is claimed to be the first time an airline has used a multi-supplier real-time feed directly into the inventories of top car rental companies.
CarTrawler CEO Greg Turley said: “Finally an airline can provide a reliable and highly lucrative ancillary service like car rental to its customers, without being restricted by long lead-in times and poor availability, which have traditionally made car hire a poor additional service.
“We are expecting LOT to achieve very significant improvements in ancillary revenue from their web channel, whilst providing their customers with a very important addition to their service.”
LOT e-commerce manager Radoslaw Dutkowski said: “LOT is particularly pleased to be the first airline to offer this superior car hire technology to our customers.”
