Love Island final prompts spike in Majorca flight searches
Flight searches from UK airports to Majorca jumped by 60% during the final episode of Love Island on Monday night.
According to online travel agent Kiwi.com, flight searches to the Balearic island have already risen by almost a third since the ITV2 reality show began.
“Now that the British public can no longer watch the romantic exploits of those on Love Island it’s clear we’re hunting for our own romantic holiday," said Alison Couper at Kiwi.com.
"The show may have taken the nation by storm, yet it is clear the TV phenomenon has had a lasting impact on our summer holiday decisions!"
But while Love Island has spurred interest in Majorca holidays, rival show, Ex On The Beach, has had a lower impact, with Kiwi.com reporting only a 10% increase in flight searches to Bali.
