Luxury travel portal goes live
More than 100 luxury hotels are to feature on a new website.
The portal, www.luxuryexplorer.com, launched this week aimed at independent travellers.
Properties featured on the site include Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and The Dorchester in the UK; La Residencia in Mallorca; Hotel Splendido in Portofino; Delano, Miami; Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro; Observatory in Sydney; plus Orient-Express, Oberi and Aman properties.
Besides hotels, the site also includes yacht charters, river cruises, train companies, a private jet charterer and tour operator Exsus Travel.
Luxury Explorer chairman Peter Matthews said: “For most travellers, internet search engines are now the first port of call when researching travel possibilities.
“This is particularly true in luxury travel, where self directed luxury explorers want to find well-known destinations or discover hidden treasures with as little fuss as possible. Luxury Explorer has been created to become the bookmark for independently-minded travellers searching for stylish, luxurious alternatives to the big and often bland travel brands most easily found on the web.”
