Malaysia Airlines introduces self-print bag tag service

Tuesday, 19 Aug, 2016 0
Malaysia Airlines economy class passengers are now required to self print their own bag tags.

It is the latest step in streamlining check-in procedure, which will support self-baggage drop kiosks introduced later this year.

"This move is in line with MAS’ strategy to leverage on technology in order to simplify and reduce the time for check-in, giving customers more control over their travel experience," the airline said.

MAS’ check-in hall at Kuala Lumpur International Airport has about 50 kiosks for baggage tag printing before proceeding to the baggage drop desks.

"Many global airlines around the world have implemented this service to simplify the travel experience of passengers. With the new system, the check-in process from kiosks to baggage drop counters is expected to be significantly shorter."

It is available for all flights except to Dhaka and Kathmandu, which still require check in at dedicated counters for the time being.
