Marriott expands coronavirus cancellation waiver
Marriott International is waiving any hotel reservation cancellation fees for stays across Greater China until the end of next month.
Guests can cancel reservations without penalty in Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau or Hong Kong for stays until February 29, 2020.
Additionally, all travellers from Greater China with bookings at Marriott hotels overseas can also cancel free of charge.
The hotel group is closely monitoring the latest announcements and findings from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization regarding coronavirus (2019-nCoV) cases.
It extends an initial waiver which was valid until early February.
"The wellbeing of our guests and associates is of paramount importance," it said in a brief statement.
Other hotel chains including Peninsula Hotels, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, and Hilton have also started waiving cancellation fees for affected stays.
