Moresand to consolidate tour ops into one overall brand
Travel group Moresand, which includes Crystal Travel and Travel Centre UK, has recruited a new director to expand its tour operations under one brand, Moresand Holidays.
Samuel Eliatamby has been appointed director of tour operations for the new brand which the travel company said will be expanded to include new ‘unique’ products.
Eliatamby, who is currently recruiting a team of 10 to support him, has previously worked as senior planning officer at British Airways Holiday, commercial director at Inspirations and director of operations at Southall Travel.
In 2015 the group, which has been established for more than 32 years, had a turnover of £120 million with a net profit of nearly £2 million.
It said that substantial growth is forecast in the following years but would not expand on what market it was targeting.
"Joining such a long established successful company is really an exciting challenge especially with plans to fill gaps in the market and will be available to book through the travel trade, which we believe is an important distribution channel," said Sam Eliatamby.
"With Sam’s vast experience in the industry I have no doubt he will expand our current 20,000 passenger tour operation, to become a further recognised name in the industry.
"Our dedication to this is shown by securing further office premises at the iconic Croydon Airport, the world’s first purpose built airport terminal and London’s first airport," said P.S.Kang, managing director.
