New Champagne region air link from Luton
Daily flights to Rheims are to be launched from Luton Airport.
French carrier Air Turquoise is to start the service to the French Champagne region on March 28 with fares starting at £39 one-way.
Rheims is 90 minutes east of Paris by road and one hour from Disneyland Paris.
Launched last summer, Air Turquoise has carried more than 20,000 passengers on its network from Rheims, which includes daily flights to Nice, Bordeaux and Marseilles and Toulouse from April 4.
Online bookings can be made for Air Turquoise’s services at www.airturquoise.com.
CEO Antoine de Keviler said: “London Luton Airport is the perfect choice for the French airline Air Turquoise offering our passengers fantastic facilities within the new terminal development and fast convenient transport connections to the attractions of the capital and its area.”
Luton Airport managing director Kathryn James added: “This is quite literally a new departure for us and we welcome the opportunity Air Turquoise brings to travellers, opening up one of France’s most beautiful and interesting areas. Until now the Rheims Champagne region could only be reached by a very time-consuming and laborious car ferry or train journey.”
