New E-ticketing agreement
Galileo International Inc. announced it has deployed E-ticketing with Spirit Airlines, the largest privately-held airline in the US.
Galileo now has E-ticketing with 62 airlines in 48 countries worldwide.
Galileo became the first GDS to offer electronic ticketing in the US in 1996, according to the company. Today, 96% of the Galileo-issued tickets in the US for major airlines are electronic.
Spirit Airlines says it expects the move will lower costs and improve service.
Galileo is a subsidiary of Cendant Corp.
