New features for Birding and Nature Festival
New features added to next year’s Florida’s First Coast Birding and Nature Festival promise to make the event even more exciting for nature lovers. The festival’s combination of field trips with hands-on training in the latest nature photography techniques and technology make it one of the largest and most popular of its kind in the United States. The 2007 festival, to be held April 12-15, adds digiscoping to the line up of more than 120 events including photo safaris, nature tours, birding and photo seminars and the ever-popular nature photo contest. Plus, there will be online ticketing for events, an online nature photo gallery – and a new logo.
Digiscoping is sure to be a popular addition to the festival. This novel technique combines the use of digital cameras, a telescope and computer programming to produce amazing digital photographs – perfect for bird and nature photographers. Festival participants will get to learn the latest digiscoping techniques from experts including Steve Ingraham of Zeiss Optics, Kate Sitzmier of Eagle Optics and Jeff Bouton of Leica Optics.
New, user-friendly features have been added to The First Coast Birding and Nature Festival website www.Getaway4Nature.com. These include a photo gallery where users may view and add nature images of Northeast Florida. As the festival approaches, the site will also provide e-ticketing and reservations for individual festival events online.
A colorful new logo has also been developed for the festival. The new logo includes the outline of a water bird and a camera that reflects the festival’s appeal to outdoor photographers.
