New finance director at Shearings
Shearings has appointed Gary Speakman as its new finance director following the retirement of David Newbold.
He has previously held the same position at corporate advisory and investment group Acceleris plc, Sportech plc, the global provider of football and horse racing pools betting and Littlewoods Gaming.
The operator, which focuses on holidays and hotel breaks for the over 50s market, recently reported a 3.5% rise in annual sales to £193.7m due to continued growth in customer numbers.
It said like for like bookings in the first quarter of 2012 were 4% ahead of last year.
Denis Wormwell, CEO of Shearings Group, said: "Gary is a high calibre FD with an excellent track record at some of the North West’s largest and most successful businesses."
