New OYO hires to strengthen guest safety
OYO Hotels and Homes made a couple of key appointments designed to improve guest safety and security.
It has hired Capt Shakil Ahmed as VP of security and risk and Annie Vig as director- emergency response for India and South Asia.
Both positions will help strengthen the company’s efforts to improve guest safety and the customer experience, the company says.
Captain Shakil Ahmed has two decades’ experience in the Indian Army and the private sector in security operations.
These include positions at Pfizer, Diageo India and Amazon.
At OYO, we believe that technology is an enabler and can help us offer enhanced safety solutions to all our guests," said Aditya Ghosh, OYO Hotels and Homes CEO, India, and South Asia.
Annie Vig joins from IndiGo where she worked with the chief of safety and CEO in policy planning and strategy as well as collaborating on joint exercises with neighbouring countries and security forces.
Oyo recently rolled out an industry first in-app SOS button which enables guests to call for immediate assistance from the on-ground hotel staff or the round-the-clock OYO Safety Response Team.
The function can also send a call out direct to local law enforcement.
