New president and CEO appointed at Long Island CVB
The Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced the appointment of New York native Yan Baczkowski as President and CEO with immediate effect.
He takes over from Moke McGowan, who served for ten years as president of the LICVB.
Baczkowski is a veteran destination management professional in tourism development with over 20 years’ experience in the US and Europe.
Previous posts include executive director for Snowmass Tourism in Colorado, CEO of the Verbier St-Bernard Visitors & Convention Bureau in Switzerland and as managing director for the French Government Tourist Office in New York.
"We are pleased that Yan will be heading up the visitors bureau as he brings a wealth of domestic and international tourism experience and a proven track record to the position," said LICVB chairman Greg DeClemente.
"The board looks forward to working with him to grow Long Island Tourism."
Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau, based in Hauppauge, NY and established in 1979, is the official tourism agency promoting meetings and conventions, trade shows and sporting events in the region.
