New search engine site for specialist tour ops

Travelwhere is re-launching as a search engine website featuring itineraries from more than 60 specialist tour operators.

Formerly a brochure directory website, Travelwhere has spent time developing the software for its ‘one stop’ site which it claims will provide better informed leads to tour operators.

The company is also planning to offer a ‘white label’ tour search for independent travel agents who can also take advantage of the content but customise it.

The white label site would feature the agent’s phone number and generate an email to the agent. In addition customers using their website would be able to search activity, adventure, wildlife and culture holidays as well as cruises and villas from a range of operators.

Travelwhere said it already provides a ‘white label’ site for Association of British Travel Organisers to France, ABTOF.

Ian Champness, founder of Travelwhere.  "What the consumer wants to find is a choice of holidays from a range of specialist operators in just one site so that they can quickly and easily compare the itineraries.

"The software we’ve developed goes one step further than a Google result.

"It shows an image and full tour description to give the user exactly what they want to see in one search and thus drives better informed leads to the tour operators" he adds.

The Travelwhere site offers both free listings and free clickthroughs but the aim is to charge for ‘Contextual Advertising’ where the operator displays their ad alongside the relevant holiday search result.

It is guaranteeing any launch ad will stay on the Travelwhere site until 1,000 clickthroughs have been delivered.

Champness added: "I’m sure operators who want better leads, greater brand awareness and advertising reach will quickly recognise the benefits of being featured in this breakthrough search marketing site"  he added.
