New star-gazing tour to St Helena
A new star-gazing tour to St Helena is on offer with professional astronomer Steve Owens.
The 19-day tour leaves Cape Town on board the old royal mail ship RMS St Helena on April 29 2013.
It heads to the South Atlantic island of St Helena – one of the few places where the Plough and the Southern Cross can be seen at the same time.
The tour costs £2,948 per person including accommodation in a shared two berth cabin full board and a twin room at St Helena’s Wellington House Hotel, bed and breakfast.
Steve Owens is a professional stargazer, dark skies consultant, and author of the book "Stargazing for Dummies".
St Helena, measuring 47 square miles, is an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom only accessible by sea, with its own legislature and a high degree of internal self-government.
