New system allows users to see their vacation destination online
SuperTour introduced what it called the first online travel experience that enables users to try before they buy their vacation.
Users take a digital walk through the inside and outside of hotels, restaurants, bars, beaches and other attractions.
Travelers in early online travel were interested mostly in cheap prices, said Jim Schoonmaker, CEO of SuperTour.
“Today, people want to actually see how far the beach is from the hotel or walk from the hotel lobby to the pool area. They want an online experience that accurately depicts their travel destination,” he said.
Users of the system can also book directly online through partnerships with reservations systems.
Additional features of the site include sorting of search criteria such as hotel ratings, a listing of suggested things to do and links to reviews.
SuperTour started with Miami Beach but plans eventually to include all the major destination locations in the US, Europe and Mexico.
