New travel website search engine goes live
Travel Navigator, a search engine for travel websites, has been re-launched as a public search engine for UK-specific travel websites.
The www.travelnavigator.info site has been redeveloped into a public search engine specifically focused on UK travel websites.
Consumers can now use Travel Navigator to search for websites designed for UK travellers.
The website enables users to search by various categories such as flight only, holidays, car hire, insurance, airport facilities, rail and ferry information and also includes destination guides, weather visa and consular information.
Travel companies are being invited to submit their sites for inclusion in Travel Navigator.
Costs for being listed start at £12 plus VAT a year for a standard listing. Enhanced listings with a 200 word description cost £25.
If the submitting company operates an affiliate marketing scheme then the listing can be free.
CEO Jon Constantine said: “There are now thousands of travel websites out there on the internet and the public needs help finding them.
“Travel searches in the big search engines now bring back so many irrelevant and inappropriate results that we felt the market needed a more focussed approach.
“By categorising sites and hand checking them, we feel we are bringing a useful service to the travelling public. The site also contains useful information and advice for travellers and has a news section and a section to highlight special offers available in the market place.”
