New vacation package search on SideStep
SideStep, known for its air and hotel search comparison engine, launched a beta release of its new vacation package service, which makes it easy for consumers to search multiple sites at once for vacation package offerings to more than 90 popular destinations worldwide.
According to Gartner Group, while travelers check an average of 4.2 sites before booking a flight, they check 5.8 sites before booking a vacation package. With SideStep, travelers can now turn to a single site to explore and book travel packages.
While SideStep is the first travel search company to offer the vacation package search feature, it is expected that its rivals, Kiyak, Yahoo!Farechase, etc will follow in the near future.
Initial SideStep vacation packaging partners include Vacation Outlet, Pleasant Holidays and Orbitz, with additional tour operators to be announced.
