New World Hotels expanding to Thai capital
Thai capital Bangkok is to get a new hotel in the landmark Grand Rama 9 mixed-use development.
New World Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement to operate the New World Grand Rama 9, due to open in 2017.
It will be the latest additions to New World Hotels’ growing Asian portfolio, joining properties in mainland China, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Interiors for the 285-room hotel will be craeaed by Singapore based design firm White Jacket and amenities planned include the brand’s signature Residence Club executive floors and lounge, meeting and function space including a grand ballroom, café, specialty restaurant and rooftop pool bar.
“Bangkok represents an important strategic expansion for us in Asia and we are very pleased to partner with Grand Canal Land to showcase our ‘modern Oriental hospitality’ in such a significant development in the Thai capital,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, parent company of New World Hotels & Resorts.
New World Hotels & Resorts plans to have 30 hotels in operation by 2020.
