Norwegian hikes onboard daily service charge
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced a hike in cruise ship gratuity charges.
It’s the first increase for a year and takes effect on April 1.
Daily service charge goes up by 49c to per passenger to $14.99 for guests staying in accommodations up to a mini-suite stateroom, and $17.99 per person per day for any suite or in The Haven.
The ‘nominal adjustment’ can be avoided for passengers booked on cruises after April 1 if they prepay at the current rate.
The recommended gratuity is still discretionary and can be adjusted up or down depending on the level of service perceived by guests.
It is usual for mainstream cruise lines to hike the fee on a yearly basis.
