Nostalgic road trip experience on the Wheel at ICON Park
A new interactive experience is coming to The Wheel at ICON Park, Orlando.
Set to launch in early 2023, ‘The Great Florida Road Trip Photo Travelogue’ will take visitors on a nostalgic trip through mid-century Florida.
The experience will be full of throwback imagery and retro storytelling.
It reminds travelers that Florida has been a vacation destination long before the theme parks.
With camera-esque device in hand, guests will join a cartoon family of flamingoes on their vacation capturing snapshots through classic billboards.
As guests roll along aboard The Wheel, they will learn about a bygone side of Florida.
Whoever achieves the highest score by taking the largest number of quality snapshots will receive a special prize
Guests will be provided with a retro-style postcard they can fill out after the experience.
“I have always been intrigued and inspired by the role of the Florida tourism pioneers that paved the way for everything else, said Chris Jaskiewicz, ICON Park president and CEO.
“This concept provides a way for us to pay homage to their contribution.”
Along with the new experience, there’s a redesigned queue, a pre-show and themed merchandise mix.
ICON Park is at the center of the new Orlando Entertainment District.
