Now Aer Lingus flies to zero
Aer Lingus has advised the travel industry that, as of January 1, the base commission level for all tickets issued in Australia will drop from 5% to 0%.
In order to claim the existing base commission of 5%, bookings must be ticketed prior to January 1, 2013.
All bookings issued by agents on or after this date will be affected by the commission change.
The airline said no exceptions will be permitted, and ADMs will be raised for all incorrect commission claims made on or after January 1.
Last week Alaska Airlines advised the travel industry that it is dropping base commissions paid on tickets for point of sale in Australia from 3% to 1%, also effective January 1, 2013.
