NRMA spends $20 million across the pond

Australia’s largest motoring membership organsiation, NRMA has announced the purchase of $20 million of New Zealand tourism industry assets.

NRMA Motoring and Services has bought Thrifty Car Rental New Zealand, a hotel in Palmerston North and the Adventureworld wholesale travel business.

This builds on the recent acquisition in Australia, buying 12 Travelodge Hotels, the Treasure Island resort on the Gold Coast, Thrifty Australia and Adventureworld Australia.

NRMA has two million members in Australia and says it will promote New Zealand has a holiday destination to them.
