Online travel gets STEPS recognition

Monday, 24 Feb, 2006 0

A new section for the online travel sector will feature at next month’s Spanish trade show STEPS.

The sixth Spanish Tourist Office Spanish Tourist Exchange for Professionals event is held on March 29-30 at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London.

Introduction of the online section reflects the “important role the online tourist market plays today and due to its quick expansion in recent years,” according to the tourist office.

“The Spanish Tourist Office in London considers this initiative an important one to reinforce the present and future of the travel industry and felt it important to show this during STEPS 2006,” a statement said.

More than 140 exhibitors from the travel industry in Spain are due to attend the show.

A parallel seminar programme will run on both days covering topics such as products and destinations as well as a face to face discussion with Miguel Fluxá Roselló, president of Spanish travel group Iberostar and Ignacio Vasallo, director of the Spanish Tourist Office in London.
