Price cut of 20% are being made on all Mexico trips by TrekAmerica in a bid to entice travellers back to the country.

The discount, combined with the strengthening of the pound against the US dollar, mean that Mexico camping tours start from less than £45 a day, according to the company.

The move comes as the country seeks to recover from April Swine flu outbreak.

TrekAmerica sales director Richard Hanson said: “Now the situation has normalised, we want to encourage travellers back to Mexico to experience the amazing diversity, culture, adventure, landscape and food the country has to offer.

The operator is offering a 14-day camping trip for £575.20, or under £42 a day, excluding flights.

A 21 day mainly camping tour now starts at a reduced price of £928.

An 11-day lodged tour now costs £615.20.
